CASE STUDY : PingPilot
Building a Next-Generation Communication Platform for Sales and Support Teams
THE CHALLENGE
Setting up communication infrastructure for sales, marketing, or support teams is often tedious and expensive. Traditional solutions require separate VOIP systems, landing pages, and CRM tools - each with its own integrations and costs. The PingPilot team wanted to simplify this process by building an all-in-one communication platform that could connect customers and teams instantly through voice, chat, and web without the friction or overhead of legacy systems.
My Role & Approach
As the Lead iOS Developer on a multi-platform team, I guided the mobile development effort from discovery through launch. Working closely with the client, I led early planning sessions to define how a native mobile app could extend the web platform and improve real-time responsiveness for teams on the go.
We created and refined wireframes, defined the development scope, and established a sprint schedule aligned with the client’s goals. From there, I focused on building a fast, reliable iOS experience that complemented the web app’s functionality.
Key iOS Features Developed
Native Swift Implementation: Built entirely in Swift for optimal performance, smooth animations, and seamless integration with iOS frameworks.
Local Data Storage for Offline Support: Implemented a lightweight custom network layer that synced data into a CoreData store, allowing users to stay productive without a constant connection.
Truly Instant Messaging: Used WebSockets and push notifications to enable real-time communication, keeping users connected without lag or sync delays.
THE RESULTS
PingPilot successfully launched as a unified communication platform that gave each client a custom phone number and public-facing landing page on signup, along with access to both web and mobile apps for managing calls, messages, and notes within a built-in CRM. The app delivered reliable, immediate communication and helped teams stay connected anywhere. This was an important early step in what would become a full-featured communication-as-a-service solution.
